Q It’s so humid! How can I keep my hair frizz-free this summer?
A This is a common problem. After all, eight out of ten women have naturally wavy or curly hair, which is prone to frizz because of the way the cuticle sits on the hair follicle. To keep hair frizz-free, you need to keep it hydrated – apply a deep conditioning mask once a week to replenish moisture levels. When styling hair, add a drop of oil or serum to seal the hair shaft. Summer is the perfect time to wear hair up and loose, so instead of fighting your hair why not try a fat bun or a milkmaid braid? They’re still in style this season. Oh, and avoid heat appliances like blow driers and flat irons during the summer because these will only cause more dryness and frizz. THE TREATMENT: First of all, this place is <amazing> – we’re talking traditional Qatari luxury, and the atmosphere and setting is worth the trip alone. Arabian lanterns hanging from the ceilings, dark wood in the changing rooms and labyrinthine alleyways make you feel like you’ve stepped into an old-world palace. I originally booked a Lymphatic Facial, but my therapist Miona took one look at me, decided it would only further irritate my hyper-sensitive skin, and told me I actually needed extraction. She was right – the humidity in Doha was causing my skin to break out more than Wentworth Miller. Miona then applied a jasmine cream mask to soothe my rosacea, followed by a blue lotus lotion to restore balance to my skin.
THE RESULT: My skin was soft and supple – but interestingly, devoid of oil. I’m used to being smothered by delicious-smelling unguents after a spa session, but this time my skin felt hydrated. More importantly, my skin remained clear for the rest of the week.

EXERCISE OF THE MONTH
PLANK HIP TWIST
Step 1: Get into a push up position on your toes, with hands slightly wider than shoulder distance apart. Your body should be in a straight line from head to toe.
Step 2: Rotate your hips and lower one side to gently touch the floor. Slowly reverse back to plank position.
Step 3. Repeat on the other side and continue to slowly alternate for 45 seconds.
