Teatro Towers Rotana, Duba
An oldie but a goodie. After opening in 2001, Teatro has managed to keep up with the new kids on the block and remains a firm favourite on the foodie scene.
East meets west. With beef Carpaccio, ebi tempura maki rolls, duck pancakes and creamy burrata, the menu is an inspiring melange of dishes from Thailand, Japan, China and Italy.
For mains, stick to oriental dishes. The richly-flavoured miso seabass is so tender it literally melts in the mouth and is served with bok choy to cut through its rich glaze.
Save space for a sweet finale. The torched baked Hawaiian for dessert is in a league of its own; the meringue is sweet with a delightfully chewy centre and is dressed with a zingy pineapple and passion fruit sauce.
It’s great for a touch of Arabian celeb spotting. This is a hit with local celebs including Nancy Ajram and Ragheb Alame, so keep your eyes peeled!
Consistency is key to its success. You know that feeling when you first visit a restaurant and are wowed by the food, but the second time it’s disappointing? This is something you will never experience here, no matter how many times you return.
