Go back to basics at this old-school diner created by TV chef Luke Thomas and London restaurateur Mark Fuller. The menu is bursting with classic British grub such as mac‘n’cheese, fishfinger sandwiches and a Coronation chicken burger.

Take a trip down memory lane when it comes to the puds. The sweet treats read like a list of childhood favourites (if you’re from Blighty or that neck of the woods) thanks to the knickerbocker glory and Eton mess, a mixture of mashed berries, whipped cream, crushed meringue and fresh mint.

Unless you’re picnicking on the sand, you can’t eat much closer to the beach. Head through the traditional red telephone box entrance after a day of sunbathing for a nourishing meal.

Grab a shake from the bar. Choose either a refreshing detox juice or a milkshake, prepared in front of you using proper ice cream.

Retro is flying the flag for Britain, literally. While the interior features old poster adverts and school canteen-style chairs, a Union Jack flag hangs proudly from the ceiling, a gift to Thomas and Fuller from the managers of heavy metal band Iron Maiden after it was used on one of their world tours.
